AMA: consolidated revenue for the first half of 2022

  • Consolidated revenue for the first half of 2022: €2.1 million
    • Development strategy adapted to changes in its market
    • Resumption of growth in order levels in the second quarter following the launch of XpertEye 6.6
    • XpertEye 6.7 launched in early July: new features and new equipment

AMA CORPORATION PLC (“AMA”), pioneer of assisted reality solutions and publisher and integrator of B2B software solutions for smart workplaces, continued to grow in a market below expectations, recording consolidated revenue of €2.1 million at constant exchange rates (unaudited) in the first half of 2022, compared to €4.0 million (-48%) in the first half of 2021.

In a market for assisted reality solutions hampered by a contraction of investments in many technological areas, AMA has deployed a rationalization of its organization to gain in agility and ensure that it has adequate resources for the resumption of growth in its market. . The savings plan announced at the beginning of June will reduce its operating expenses by at least €4 million in a full year, with a maximum cost of around €1.2 million in 2022. It focuses on reducing its workforce (163 employees at the end of June 2022) about sixty positions in France and 10 abroad, with the closure of 4 non-priority commercial business units (Romania, Italy, UK, Canada) and the management of their customers reassigned to the 7 other subsidiaries.

To support the recovery in demand for its assisted reality solutions, AMA has made two major updates to XpertEye. After version 6.6 launched at the beginning of April, version 6.7, released at the beginning of July, includes many features to facilitate and secure the management of multi-user exchanges. It covers new specific needs for frontline workers by offering bandwidth control to optimize flows for example. At the same time, XpertEye, when adapted to its use, in the medical sector for example, now integrates Full HD video. After the integration of several connected objects and glasses with version 6.6, version 6.7 is further enriched with a night vision camera and a bodycam for armies and security services. Finally, with the inclusion of Arabic, the XpertEye suite of solutions is now available in 20 languages.

Building on its progress, AMA recorded a 10% increase in its orders during the second quarter compared to the first quarter of 2022. At the end of June 2022, AMA had 439 customers, including 61 new accounts, while maintaining its international sales organization in Europe , the United States and Asia.

With revenue recognition spread over the duration of software solution contracts, and given the pace and characteristics of orders (software vs quantity of equipment) over the coming months, it is not possible to confirm a return to revenue growth in the second half of 2022. However, AMA expects growth in its order levels to continue in the second half. Further details may be provided when the consolidated results for the first half of 2022 are published on October 31.
