Cementos Molins achieves a turnover of 968 million euros in 2021

Cementos Molins closed 2021 with revenues of €968 million, up 25% year-on-year. Gradual economic improvement helped boost activity in all countries, with cement and concrete volumes growing double-digit.

EBITDA reached a record €242 million in 2021, growing 18% year-on-year. The strong improvement in results is driven by the increase in volumes, mix and price management, as well as the positive contribution of operational efficiency plans. Challenges included huge cost inflation for energy, raw materials and logistics, which affected EBITDA margin in 3Q and 4Q21. The annual EBITDA margin was 25%.

The net profit of Cementos Molins reached 105 million euros, up 12% compared to the previous year. On a comparable basis, excluding the impact of exchange rates, hyperinflation and scope changes, the company’s net profit increased by 28%.

Net financial debt as of December 31, 2021 increased to €177 million due to completed acquisitions but remains at a comfortable net financial debt/EBITDA multiple of only 0.7x.

Julio Rodriguez, CEO of Cementos Molins, highlighted that “2021 has been another year of major challenges and at the same time of major achievements, with very positive results that show the great commitment of the Cementos Molins teams”.
