FTI Consulting adds two senior managing directors to the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment in EMEA

Joaquín Coronado improves its restructuring and business transformation offers in Spain

Stephen Haw strengthens his expertise in business transformation and strategic consulting in the UAE

LONDON, March 31, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the expansion of its Corporate financing and restructuring segment in Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) with the appointment of Joaquín Coronado and Stephen Haw as Senior Managing Directors.

Mr. Coronado, who will be based in Madrid, further enhances FTI Consulting’s business restructuring and transformation offering. It will increase capacity to provide turnaround, advisory and interim management services and will focus on private equity firms, as well as lenders and corporates.

Mr. Haw, who will be based in Abu Dhabi, will focus on providing transformational change and strategic consulting services as a senior member of the growing group in the region. Business Transformation practice within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. He has advised on multiple operational and strategic projects, including pre- and post-divestiture and integration, operational transformation, strategic technology and digital investment, innovation and regulatory, economic and market design initiatives. .

Mr. Coronado’s experience spans the energy, utilities, telecommunications and technology sectors, having worked for companies such as Abengoa, EDP and ONO, where he held several management positions and was a member of the board of directors. He was a partner at PwC between 2008 and 2015, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions as well as operational and financial restructurings and led the Advisory division in Spain for six years, overseeing advisory and transaction services.

Mr. Coronado has been involved in several entrepreneurial projects since 2015, including the creation and development of the Mexican company Altán Redes, where he worked as general manager until 2019, as well as at Taiyo Capital, a fund that invests in utility solar power plants in Japan. Mr. Coronado was also CEO and co-founder of Podo, a digital retailer of electricity, gas and home services.

During his career he has worked in Spain, the United States, Latin America and Portugal. He has been a member of the advisory board of Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners in New York since 2015, as well as a member of the board of directors of Ence Energía since 2021.

Mr. Haw has extensive experience engaging in the energy sub-sectors, including power, gas, renewables, water and wastewater, with clients such as regulators, utilities management, group companies and authorities. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Haw was a partner and executive director of an independent business and technology consulting firm for 11 years. Previously, he worked for Accenture and as an independent consultant and practiced as a civil engineer for Balfour Beatty Major Projects.

Mr. Haw is the second senior appointment in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment of FTI Consulting in the UAE, following the arrival of Vikas PapriwalSenior Managing Director and Head of Corporate Finance & Restructuring in the Middle East.
