Regional accountancy and business advisory firm Azets has appointed a number of senior members to its South Wales tax and corporate finance teams.

The tax team welcomed Amy Buckley as partner, Oliver John as director and Ben Griffin as managing partner, while the corporate finance division appointed Claire Marshall as director.

Amy Buckley has over 20 years of personal tax experience, 16 of which with PwC. As a partner, Buckley advises in areas such as inheritance tax, trusts and estates, compliance, profit extraction, property portfolios, capital gains tax and matters of residence and domiciliation.

Oliver John was previously with Mazars for just over five years where he provided tax and equity valuation advice to a range of companies in relation to equity transactions. In his role as Director at Azets, John will continue to share tax advice with clients throughout the life of a business, from companies looking to raise capital to shareholders looking to exit.

Ben Griffin, also previously with Mazars, has been appointed Associate Director within the tax advisory team and is a qualified chartered accountant and registered tax adviser. With deep transactional knowledge and experience, Griffin advises executives on post-deal incentive actions and specializes in equity, employee compensation and tax valuation matters, as well as all aspects related to the rules of “employment-related titles”.

Claire Marshall joined Azets as a Director within the Corporate Finance team, specializing in supporting clients with M&A advisory, transaction due diligence and capital raising advisory work. Marshall trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG and recently obtained an MBA from the University of Warwick.

David Owens, Regional Managing Director of Azets South Wales, said: “With two of our service lines continuing to grow, this is an exciting time for us as we continue to develop our teams to meet the demand for our enterprise.

“All four senior appointments bring a wealth of experience in their industries, and their professional knowledge is a tremendous asset to our team. I look forward to seeing the tax and corporate finance teams continue to thrive.”
