Corporate finance and trading company opens its first office outside the UK

A corporate finance and trading company, GS Verde Group, has developed in Ireland.

GS Verde, headquartered in Cardiff, has opened its first office outside the UK, with the launch of GS Verde (Ireland) in Dublin.

The new office is located in Dublin 2, Dublin’s premier business district, and the company says the move follows customer demand with new and existing customer agreements in the country in sectors including aviation, SaaS and technology.

Nigel Greenaway, GS Verde Group CEO, said: “We are very pleased to be expanding into Ireland. Some of the world’s biggest brands, including Google, Facebook and Microsoft, have a presence here and we’re excited to join them as we continue to build our own fast-growing disruptive business.

The Irish business will be overseen by newly appointed director Peter Franklin, who will also join the new board of GS Verde (Ireland).

GS Verde says Mr. Franklin has experience across multiple industries, including more than 12 years in the medical device industry, collectively managing corporate compliance, strategic growth, and mergers and acquisitions. He will be responsible for supporting the GS Verde Group in its plans to pursue its buy and build strategy, to develop GS Verde (Ireland).

Upon his appointment, Mr. Franklin said, “I am delighted and honored to join the Board of GS Verde (Ireland). Having been involved in successful corporate mergers and acquisitions for many years now is the right time to bring a company of this scale to Ireland. Despite the effects of the current pandemic, the Irish economy remains resolute and determined not just to survive, but to continue on a healthy growth path, now exceeding the EU average.”

The GS Verde group is made up of, among others, the business law firm Greenaway Scott and mergers and acquisitions specialists Verde Corporate Finance.

Mr Franklin added: “The Irish business environment is now ripe for a key player, who will effectively facilitate, advise and deliver better business activities, such as mergers, acquisitions, growth strategies, services financial and legal advice.

“A very often underserved specialist area in the country, companies interested in exploring these horizons now have the opportunity to engage with a dedicated and accomplished company.

Over the past year, the GS Verde Group says it has experienced tremendous growth, including the acquisition of Bristol-based Astrum Accountants, the addition of marketing and communications agency Dragonfly Marketing and the launch of the fintech investment platform Elevate. This growth has also been accompanied by a number of high profile appointments across the group.
