FTI brings its Corporate Finance & Restructuring division to Japan
Global professional services firm FTI Consulting has launched its Corporate Finance & Restructuring division in Japan.
With over 7,000 employees in 30 countries, FTI Consulting is one of the largest management consulting firms in the world. The firm serves its clients through five main divisions: Corporate Finance and Restructuring, Economic Advisory, Forensic and Litigation Advisory, Strategic Communications and Technology.
In Japan, FTI Consulting previously operated with two practices – Strategic Communications and Technology – and is now adding Corporate Finance & Restructuring to its local portfolio.
Commenting on the launch, Vincent Fok, Asia Head of Corporate Finance & Restructuring at FTI Consulting, said, “Launching the practice in Japan represents the next step in growing FTI Consulting’s footprint in another market. key financier.

The firm’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice advises clients on matters such as restructurings, turnarounds, transformations and transactions.
In Japan, the focus will initially be on business transformations and transaction-related work, and will gradually expand to the other areas housed within the practice.
Leading the new arm, Tokyo-based Senior Managing Director Kenneth Smith brings to the role more than 35 years of transaction management consulting experience across multiple industries, gained in the United States and Japan.
Most recently, Smith was the Global Commerce Leader for the Americas at EY, and prior to that, he was Managing Partner of EY’s Transaction Advisory practice in Japan. Previously, he was a partner at Deloitte Consulting in Japan and a director of Capgemini Invent in Japan, and held several positions in the industry.
