PVR Ltd’s Q4FY22 loss narrows to Rs-105.49 crore YoY as revenue nearly triples
PVR Ltd reported 120.23% year-on-year revenue growth for the quarter of Q4FY22 on a consolidated basis at Rs579.66 crore. On a sequential basis, revenue declined -18.32% in the quarter. For the full fiscal year of FY22, revenue increased by 121% to Rs 1,657 million.
With most movie theaters back in full operation, sales have been building, although revenues are still below 2018 levels as releases slow.
It needs to operate on a much larger scale to break even at an operational level in the future.
Consolidated net loss for Q4FY22 narrowed to Rs-105.49 crore while higher on a sequential basis compared to a small net loss of Rs-10.20 crore in Q3FY22.
The company has seen increased revenue in its film screening and film distribution businesses. However, both business lines recorded an operating loss at the EBITDA level due to fixed costs not yet absorbed at current volumes.
The company recently announced a merger between PVR Ltd and Inox Leisure to create a media giant.
