The AMF publishes a summary of corporate financing monitoring and regulation activities

MONTREAL, June 16, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ – The Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) is today publishing the fifth edition of its summary of supervisory and regulatory activities of the Corporate Finance Department (AMF Corporate Finance), which outlines its main initiatives for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021.

“Capital raising, including through IPOs and exempt market financings, increased significantly in 2021,” said Hugo Lacroix, AMF Superintendent, Securities Markets. “Despite the high volume of activity, we have effectively fulfilled our role as a local regulator close to the industry, in particular by supporting and assisting players in the financial sector.”

After presenting a portrait of Québec companies, the summary presents the main findings of the Autorité des marchés financiers resulting from its monitoring activities and guides industry stakeholders in the preparation of distribution and continuous disclosure documents in accordance with regulations.

As in previous years, the AMF also provides information on the representation of women on the boards of directors and senior management positions of Québec companies and presents current regulatory initiatives affecting the financing of companies and companies’ continuous disclosure obligations.

The Autorité des marchés financiers is the regulatory and supervisory body for the Québec financial sector.
